Headquartered in Brazil, Vale is the second largest mining company in the world. Active on five continents in 38 countries, we employ more than 128,000 people worldwide.
Vale transforms natural resources into prosperity and sustainable development and we are driven by the vision to be the number one global natural resources company in creating long-term value, through excellence and passion for people and the planet.
The result of our work can be found in most things from the cars we drive to the mobile phones we rely on to stay connected with one another. Vale helps shape the products that surround us, from household appliances to computer and construction components.
Globally, Vale is recognised as the world’s largest producer of iron ore and the world’s second largest producer of nickel. We also produce manganese, ferroalloys, thermal and coking coal, copper, cobalt, platinum group metals, and fertiliser nutrients, important raw materials for the global industrial and food production industries.
